Hair That Is Thinning
Is Rarely a Scalp Problem Alone.

Hair thinning in women has multiple diagnostic pathways, hormonal, thyroid, nutrient-based, inflammatory, and more. The right protocol depends entirely on which driver or combination of drivers is present in your specific case. At Hydra Prime, we identify it before we treat it.

Why We Test Before We Treat

Hair Thinning Has Six Common Drivers.
Most Patients Have More Than One.

A laser treatment applied to a follicle that is being suppressed by iron deficiency or thyroid dysfunction will underperform compared to one applied after those deficiencies have been corrected. Identifying what is driving your hair loss is not a prerequisite to treatment, it is the treatment.

Hormonal
Declining estrogen, elevated androgens, DHEA-S, or SHBG imbalance. The most common driver in women over 35. Often presents as diffuse thinning at the crown or widening part line.
Thyroid
Subclinical hypothyroidism, where TSH reads normal but Free T3 is low, is a well-established cause of hair thinning that a standard thyroid test frequently misses. Full thyroid cascade testing is essential.
Nutrient Deficiency
Ferritin (stored iron) is the most impactful nutrient for hair growth. Low ferritin causes shedding even when hemoglobin is normal. Zinc, Vitamin D, biotin, and B vitamins also directly affect follicle health.
Inflammatory
Chronic systemic inflammation and gut dysbiosis can suppress hair follicle cycling. Elevated hsCRP and inflammatory markers are frequently identified in patients with unexplained diffuse shedding.
Stress and Cortisol
Significant physical or emotional stress can trigger telogen effluvium, a diffuse shedding that occurs 2 to 4 months after the stressor. Elevated cortisol chronically disrupts the hair growth cycle.
Scalp Environment
Poor scalp circulation, sebaceous excess, and follicle miniaturization from androgenetic patterning affect the local environment that determines whether follicles produce healthy hair.
The Hormone Clarity Panel for Hair Loss

60 Biomarkers. Lab Interpretation.
A Clear Treatment Plan
When Your Results Return.

For hair thinning, the Hormone Clarity Panel is the most important starting point because it covers the widest range of known drivers, hormonal, thyroid, inflammatory, and nutritional, in a single draw. When your results return, your provider reviews every marker in the context of your hair loss pattern and delivers a clear treatment plan including which in-clinic protocol is most appropriate for your specific case.

This is not just a test. It is a test plus clinical interpretation plus a sequenced plan that connects your lab findings to your treatment protocol.

What Your Purchase Includes
60-biomarker comprehensive panel covering hormonal, thyroid, nutrient, and inflammatory drivers of hair loss
Blood draw at a local draw site near you
Lab interpretation by your Hydra Prime provider
A clear treatment plan delivered with your results
A follow-up consultation to discuss findings and begin your protocol
Key Markers for Hair Loss
Ferritin
The single most important nutrient marker for hair growth. Low ferritin causes shedding even when iron and hemoglobin are normal. Most standard panels do not test it.
Full Thyroid Cascade
TSH, Free T3, Free T4, Reverse T3, TPO Antibodies. Subclinical hypothyroidism, invisible on TSH alone, is one of the most common correctable causes of hair thinning in women.
Sex Hormones
Total and Free Testosterone, DHEA-S, SHBG, Estradiol, Progesterone. Androgenetic pattern hair loss in women is driven by androgen excess or sensitivity, which requires measurement to confirm.
Inflammatory Markers
hsCRP, Homocysteine. Chronic inflammation disrupts the follicle cycling that produces healthy hair growth.
Vitamin D3 and Zinc
Both directly involved in follicle health and hair shaft production. Deficiency in either is associated with increased shedding.
The Individualized Protocol

Internal Correction First.
Then In-Clinic Activation.

Hair restoration at Hydra Prime is not a menu item. It is an individualized protocol built from your lab results, your hair loss pattern, and your timeline. The combination of internal correction and in-clinic treatment produces results that neither achieves alone.

AestheticScalp Activation
Fotona Laser Scalp Therapy

Fotona laser scalp therapy delivers targeted energy to the follicle level, stimulating blood flow to the dermal papilla and activating follicles that have miniaturized. Improves the scalp's vascular environment and promotes follicle reactivation in patients with circulation-related or androgenetic thinning. Most effective when initiated after lab-identified deficiencies have been corrected.

Ideal for: Androgenetic thinning, follicle miniaturization, scalp circulation concerns. Best sequenced after internal deficiencies are addressed.
Lab panel strongly recommended before initiating scalp laser protocol.
AestheticGrowth Factor Activation
Scalp Microneedling
WellnessInternal Correction
Hormone Optimization and Nutrient Repletion
